Artwork for Sale: Originals

Whether you are looking for an eyecatching Abstract or a discreet Landscape, Flock of Art has some of the best original pieces on the market.

Painting gives voice to the unspoken, allowing artists to explore, discover and experiment even before they can attach words or meaning to what they have painted.

As a small online Art Gallery, we take great pride in helping and allowing people to seek and fall in love with paintings by well known artists from different locations and walks of life.

"Paintings have a life of their own that derives from the painter's soul."

Vincent Van Gough

Peter was born in Burnley, Lancashire in 1951. He still lives there today, together with his wife Christine. They have two grown-up daughters.

Peter only started painting in 2007, after illness confined him to his home. He first developed his distinctive ‘wobbly’ style in 2012. Peter is forever trying out new ideas and describes his style as “Lowry on Acid”. His humour and his cheeky, quirky character are evident throughout his work. His aim is to enjoy the work he does and hopes that others also find that enjoyment in his paintings. If the paintings make you smile, then Peter is happy.

Inga Kallagova-Goehnner - Nude (46)

£240.00 £185.00
Some words from Inga - 'The body and its movements expresses the story, atmosphere and personal character of a model. I capture mood and movement by drawing in classic calligraphic techniques using the Russian traditional tool of goose quills. That provides the ideal combination of flexibility and strength needed for the fluent drawing of female body and character.'

Julie Vernon - Reflections

£350.00 £297.50
Some words from Julie: My paintings provide a vision of, and stem from, an interest in our not-so-perfect world. I find beauty in the imperfect; the worn, the scarred and the weary. I take inspiration from the multi-layered graffiti and poster-clad walls of our city streets and the characters that inhabit them. I am particularly interested in those individuals who appear beset by hardship, fear or indifference. My most recent paintings deal directly with the idea of destitution, homelessness and displacement, and the chaos and solitude that it brings.

I am comfortable with both figurative and abstract styles, and whether I am painting human or animal my characters exist within a multi-layered environment of blurs, streaks and rivulets of oil paint, interspersed with printed text, familiar patterns and occasionally gold leaf. The way I create a painting can be tremendously chaotic at first with paint thrown and poured onto the canvas then areas scraped or sanded back. Text is added then virtually obliterated before being added again. Only then do I focus my attention on the main subject of the painting.

Geoffrey Key - Argument on the Nab

£7,000.00

Towards the completion of his formal academic studies in the 1960s, Geoffrey Key embarked upon a period of intensive creative study, which was to underpin the evolution of his unique, prolific and boundlessly imaginative artistic expression.

Geoffrey Key: "I wanted to paint one subject continuously for long periods of time and so for twelve months I painted this hill in Glossop (The Whitley Nab, Derbyshire) and produced about six hundred drawings, watercolours and oils I think I ended up producing about six hundred drawings, watercolours and oils."

During this time of painting the Nab, Glossop, his purpose was to shed all external influences and to discover his own artistic language. His human figure forms have their origin in the field shapes he created during that metamorphic series.

He moved from landscape to painting monumental horses, unlike any other equestrian works these riders and their chargers are the stuff of fantastic dreams.

A central aspect of his work, and an integral theme from the beginning, is the human figure. His proud, powerful figure forms ooze sensuality and reveal Key's sensibility and appreciation of the independent contemporary woman.

In his landscapes, vibrant colour pervades, restrained by a confident handling of line and form. His academic still life paintings are full of masculine assurance. An arrangement of everyday objects could hardly be less ordinary; steel knives, enamel coffee jugs and pepper grinders become beautiful objects of desire.

Geoffrey Key's works touch the viewer on many sensory levels. His fine draughtsmanship and sure handling of colour work alongside his at times bizarre imagination, revealing his joy in creating images that bridge the gap between dream and reality.
