David Frith, Brookhouse Pottery; Footed Platter of Square Form
The piece has been glazed throughout with a celadon glaze with an applied wash of a blue glaze. It has then been trailed by an Iron glaze to various panels and to heighten the lines and curves of the bowl. Each panel has been decorated, with opposing panels being decorated in similar styles. Two panels are decorated with a naive bird, the other ones with slip trailed Abstract decoration and the inner well has also been decorated with small specs of Sang de Boeuf. The central decoration again outlined with the iron trail.
It is stamped to the base with Davids personal stamp as well as the Brookhouse Pottery mark.
