A large Delft jar, octagonal in form, with a cartouche to the front and back, separated with painted enamel floral panels.

The painted cartouches each depicting a different scene, one with sailing vessels upon a calm body of water, the other showing a canal with an empty rowing boat, flanked by a windmill.

The lid painted with enamels, finishing with a single tapering finial, sits on the body, bulbous in form and octagonal in shape, returns at the base to a raised foot, with geometric enamel painted decoration.

A signature is present on the base, although unidentified.

There are losses around the rim of the lid and body, and to the base of the jar, please see images. The finial has been re-attached at some point.

Collection and viewing are welcome at The Flock of Arts, Knutsford
