Late 17th Century Carved Six Plank Oak Coffer
The rectangular top with carved detail around the perimeter of naive foliate sprigs, beneath incised arches with moulded edges, the hinges opening to reveal an open interior.
The front with further carved detail, each side with full length naively carved trees, the top and bottom featuring similar detail to the lid, with reeded incised arches and crude foliage, the centre with a further tree between the locking mechanism, and the carved cared section.
Raised to either side on shaped feet.
The coffer shows signs of age throughout, the rear left leg has been broken and a section has been lost.
Signs of old worm, no longer live.
